Little Spice Toparies
by Lucinda Jenkins LPNHC

These are so cute and easy to make. They are a great project to do with the kids. With $1.00 worth of cloves you can keep kids busy for an hour or so. More important you are inviting them to participate in the holiday preparations of the hearth and home. Kids like that feeling and respond with enthusiasm.

Little Spice topiaries make charming gifts or wonderful table favors for the holiday table.

You will need
a small terra cotta flower pot
a small florist cone
cloves
star anise
florist wire (or very thin wire)

Trim the foam cone to fit into the flower pot, then shape the cone to the size you desire.
Randomly apply your star anise to the cone by twisting a small piece of wire around it and then sticking the wire into the cone.
Now fill in all of the space with the cloves.
I suggest a very light gold wash (using an acrylic water based paint) to the flower pot with a raffia bow tied around it, but natural looks great too!
